I can't stress this enough to my friends and people I talk to about Android apps in general- Most of the best Android apps are the free ones. This is true for nearly every category of apps and the Android entertainment apps are not one of the exceptions! I've heard from a ton of people that they're basically paralyzed because of the vastness of the Android Market. My advice to them and just about everyone else: when you have a half hour of free time, download a couple free Android apps and check them out. If you like 'em, keep 'em; if you don't, well there's plenty more that you'll like. The trick is narrowing the tens of thousands of Android apps into chunks you can handle.
