Learn About The HTC Desire

best android apps
HTC released the Legend, an Android powered smartphone, to mostly positive reviews. It has now unveiled the HTC Desire, a phone that HTC hopes will continue to stake the company’s claim as a leader in Android devices. There has been frequent mention of the handset’s resemblance to the Nexus One, but this is not a case of cloning or inferiority. The Desire, in fact, is packaged with HTC Sense which already provides better usability right out of the package than the Nexus One. The phone is by no means huge, measuring 119 x 60 x 11.9mm. This makes it just a bit larger than its cousin the Nexus One, but not gargantuan by any stretch of the imagination. Of course, the Desire would be a little bigger in order to house the large 3.7-inch OLED capacitive touch screen. The AMOLED display offers 800 x 480 pixel resolution, creating sharper images than most other Android phones.

A display this impressive needs to be paired with a camera that is also of high quality. Although it may not blow the doors off the joint, the 5-megapixel camera from the Legend is brought to the Desire. Maybe not exactly completely complementary to the display, the camera still offers an aspect ratio of 5:3 on its still images which is a nice, wide picture. The video recorder on the Desire shoots in 800 x 480p resolution, an improvement over the Legend and the Nexus One. In low light, the Desire’s recorder does reduce frame rate, but this is in order to extend exposure time to compensate for relatively dark settings. HTC, as previously mentioned, has placed their Sense user interface on the Desire in addition to Android 2.1. Features such as the weather effects found on it allow the display to really show what it can do. Sense provides the user with seven homescreens and unveils the Live View, a feature that displays the seven panels as thumbnails. Applications are a vital component of any smartphone, as is the ability to perform tasks simultaneously. The Desire comes equipped with a breathtaking 576MB of RAM, allowing it to handle all the apps a time you could possibly want. New to the Desire is Friend Stream, basically the HTC equivalent to Motoblur, which pulls Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter updates into a single timeline. The HTC Desire has basically taken the best features of the Legend and freshened them up. Because the previous phone was already top notch, the Desire remains near the top of the Android game. Sometimes it’s best to go with what works.

You are able to communicate with other bloggers and even your readers and customers for free using Skype. You can use Skype for text individual communication, groups communication, etc. With the groups communication feature, you can add and chat to many people all at the same time, allowing you to plan, work together or even just hang out. Skype App also allows you to call and talk to even those who only have landlines. And of course, it also has video call options, allowing you to see and be seen while talking. The single best App out there that challenges Skype in terms of awesome features and functionalies is Viber. It does many of what Skype does and some. It’s hard to talk about apps which help with communication without adding WhatsApp to the list. It’s one of the top apps for bloggers and it’s completely free to use. WhatsApp allows you to send messages and make phone calls to your fellow bloggers, your customers, your friends and family members.

You can also use it to send and receive photos for your blogging needs, videos, documents and even voice messages. A big advantage of WhatsApp is that you don’t have to use usernames or pins. It works with your phone number, the same way SMS works. And it integrates easily and seamlessly with the contacts in your phone book. If you would rather use an alternative to Skype, Viber and WhatsApp, your best bet is Hangouts, especially if you are a Google fan. It’s a Google product and works excellently well, for communicating with other bloggers, readers, customers and even family and friends. Of course what’s best about Hangouts is that it’s built right into your Android device, making it easier and seamless to use than ever. It also allows you to add contacts directly from your Gmail account, as well as many other features. If you are serious about protecting your content, then you definitely should do more than just store them on your device. Storing on only your Android device or computer is definitely not recommended.

Instead, consider storing on the cloud as well, if you haven’t already started. And when it comes to Cloud storage, Google Drive is the cloud storage of none other than big ole Google. With this app you can easily save and share your data, files, and documents in the free storage space provided by Google. Google Drive is one of the best storage systems around and if you have this android app installed then from anyplace and anytime your files would be securely uploaded. A very strong alternative to Google Drive App for storage is Dropbox. In fact, many people actually prefer using Dropbox since it was one of the very first cloud storage solution ever. Dropbox works amazingly well in keeping all your files and even your writers’ files in sync. It works very well in helping you save your data to the cloud as fast as you create them. What I like best about Dropbox is that all your files can be easily accessible from any other mobile device you use, allowing you to continue working from anywhere and from any device!
