The winners come from nine different categories with all of them boasting of apps that are claimed to offer users unique experience. These apps, according to the search giant, also excel in terms of quality, design and technical performance. The app from India's online shopping giant Flipkart has been named the winner in 'Standout Build for Billions Experience' category. These are apps or games with optimized performance, localization and culturalization for emerging markets. The app from Simple Habit Inc wins the title of best 'standout well-being' app. This category, according to Google, includes apps that empower people to live the best version of their lives, while demonstrating responsible design and engagement strategies. This app from Be My Eyes gets the top honours for offering best accessibility experience. The apps/games in this category enable device interaction that serves people with disabilities or special needs. This app by Khan Academy has been named as the app with best social impact.

According to Google, the apps or games in this category create a positive impact in communities around the world (focused on health, education, crisis response, refugees, financial health and fundraising functions). Old Man's Journey has been named as the best Standout Indie app. The category has games from indie developers that focus on artistic design, gameplay mechanics and overall polish. This app by Pocket Gems is the winner in 'Best Community Building Game' category. This category has games built to connect gamers, encouraging social interaction and community building. This app by BBC Worldwide (Ltd) gets top honours among apps or games that offer highly-engaging and immersive experiences with optimal use of ARCore or Daydream UI. This app by Canva has been named as the best 'Standout Startup' app. This category has apps from new developers that offer a unique experience while achieving strong organic install growth. Empires & Puzzles by Small Giant Games has been named 'Best Breakthrough Hit' of the year 2018. This category includes new apps or games with excellent overall design, user experience, engagement and retention, and strong organic install growth.

I used to have my HTC Desire Z running stock JB (CM10.1 if I recall correctly), but after a while it slowed down so bad I couldn't even switch apps. Afterwards, I switched over to a port of Sense 4 from HTC One V - it ran smoothly until today. The reason might be that One V is optimized to run with 512MB of RAM, or possibly I had a bad port. Anyway, good stuff. Wished I knew about AOKP earlier!
